Deaths of Telugu Actors, Producers, Musician In 2013

As many as 10 leading Tollywood celebrities from different departments of filmmaking have passed away this year. Sad part of the industry is that most of them were aged between 50 and 65 and were very talented in their respective trades. Besides making a name for themselves, these well-experienced stars had made notable contributions for the growth of Telugu film industry.


Their deaths have created irreplaceable vied in the industry. Many of these stars have died due to deadly disease Cancer, while the reasons for a few celebrities death were heart attack and other age-related ailments. Srihari, AV Subrahmanyam, Vadde Ramesh, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam and six others have breathed their last in 2013. Their sudden demise has shocked and shattered the industry.


Singer Kushi Murali (1963-2013) Playback singer Murali, who was popularly known as Khushi Murali, died of heart attack on January 11, 2013. The 'Kevvu Keka' singer was travelling in a train to Kakinada when he suffered cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife, daughter and a son. His sudden death has shocked the Telugu film industry.

PB Srinivas (1930-2013) Legendary singer PB Srinivas passed away earlier on April 14 at his residence in Chennai due to heart attack. He was 82. He was not keeping well for over a couple of weeks. He was admitted to a hospital last week and later he was brought back to the residence a few days ago. He collapsed and died from the heart attack after finishing his bath around 1 pm.

Musician JV Raghavulu (Died On 7 June, 2013) Telugu music director and playback singer Jetti Veera Raghavulu died on June 7 following illness. Raghavulu, 82, is survived by wife, four sons and a daughter. He was not well for the past two months and breathed his last at his residence in Mangalavarapupeta area in Rajahmundry at around 3 am.


Actor Kamalakar Reddy (Died On July 13, 2013) Telugu actor Boochepalli Kamalakar Reddy, who is known for his film Abhi, died following some Neurological problems on July 13. The 34-year-old actor, who hails from Cheemakurthi in Prakasam district, was admitted to a hospital in Chennai, where he breathed his last. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.










Actress Manjula Vijayakumar (1953-2013) Tamil actor Vijay Kumar's wife Manjula Vijay Kumar passed away in Chennai on July 23. The actress died at the SRMC hospital. She was 59.











Producer Thammareddy Krishnamurthy (1920-2013) Popular Telugu producer Thammareddy Krishnamurthy passed away on September 16. The 93-year-old, who had produced several hit movies of NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao, is survived by son Thammareddy Bharadwaja, who is also a popular Telugu filmmaker.










Actor Srihari (1964-2013) Raghumudri Srihari, better known as Srihari died at the Leelavathi hospital in Mumbai on October 9. The award-winning actor was reportedly ailing from liver related problems. He had been undergoing treatment for the same at the hospital, where he breathed his last this afternoon. He was 49. He is survived by his actress wife Disco Shanthi and a son.













Comedian AV Subrahmanyam (1957-2013) Telugu actor Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam, who was fondly known as AVS, died due to liver-related problems in Hyderabad on November 8. His family members said that the actor died due to acute liver ailment, from which he had been struggling for a long time.











Producer Vadde Ramesh (1947-2013) Yesteryear producer Vadde Ramesh died of cancer at KIMS, Hyderabad, on November 21. The 65-year-old filmmaker, who had worked with many superstars of Tollywood, was undergoing treatment for the prolonged illness due to cancer at the hospital, where he breathed his last on Thursday evening. He is survived by his wife and son Vadde Naveen, who was a noted hero in the early 2000s.











Comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam (1954-2013) Popular Telugu comedy actor Dharmavarapu Subramanyam died at his P&T colony residence in Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad on December 7. The 53-year-old comedian was hospitalised over some liver-related problems. He was discharged from the hospital and was taking rest at his residence, where he breathed his last. His last rites were performed at his native place Komminenivari Palem in Prakasam district on December 8.
